Please be informed that the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) has withdrawn the recognition of several foreign halal certification bodies from the list of Recognised Foreign Halal Certification Bodies (FHCB) effective from 19th February 2025. These include:

1.Ritual Association of Lyon's Great Mosque (ARGML), France

2.Centre for Halal Quality Certification (CHQC), Croatia

3.China Islamic Association (CIA), China

Companies that produce products certified halal by these three halal certification bodies are given a grace period until 19th August 2025 to obtain halal certification from other halal certification bodies recognised by JAKIM.

Following the withdrawal of recognition for ARGML, CHQC, and CIA, all products certified halal and labelled halal by these certification bodies will not be accepted for export to Malaysia, except under the following conditions:

1.Products that have already arrived in Malaysia before the withdrawal of recognition for ARGML, CHQC, and CIA.

2.Products that are already on their way to Malaysia with halal certificates issued by ARGML, CHQC, and CIA before or on 19th August 2025.

3.Products that are being processed before or on 19th August 2025 will be accepted if they are accompanied by supporting documents related to the production date.

However, manufacturers or plants affected by the withdrawal of recognition for ARGML, CHQC, may continue to export their products to Malaysia after obtaining halal certification from another recognised halal certification body in their country or from the nearest foreign halal certification bodies nearby the country.

Meanwhile, manufacturers or plants affected by the withdrawal of recognition for CIA may continue to export their products to Malaysia after obtaining halal certification from another recognised halal certification body in their country.
